Man Kills Rabid Coyote with Bare Hands

rhode island man kills coyote

A Rhode Island man was attacked by a coyote while walking through the woods earlier this month.

During a hike in the town of Johnston, the four-legged “predator” – who officials believe had previously attacked a dog walker in a nearby town – lunged at the man and bit his leg. Bad idea.

With the raw power of a thousand suns coursing through his veins, the unnamed woodsman used his bare hands to pin the beast down by its neck, cutting off its air supply until it expired from a grip so powerful it caused the earth itself to tremble.

While they’re known predators, coyotes very rarely attack humans. Wildlife experts will probably agree that the coyote must have mistaken the alpha man’s potent pheromones of sheer masculinity for a challenge to its territorial dominance.

An autopsy later revealed that the coyote had rabies, which is not very common in Rhode Island. According to AP News, this was only the third since 1994.
