Harry Styles’ most recent stalker somehow sent the pop star 8,000 cards in less than a month.
Myra Carvalho, a 35-year-old Brazilian woman who’d been staying in the UK since December – most recently at a backpacker hostel – was sentenced at London’s Harrow Crown Court to 14 weeks behind bars. She also received a ten-year restraining order, barring her from contacting the singer or attending any of his shows. And she’s also been told not to visit a section of north west London.
According to reports, Harry Styles did not enjoy being stalked.
“Harry was really shaken up,” someone told The Sun. Prosecutors said the stalking had a “substantial effect on [his] usual day-to-day activities,.”
Some of the letters were hand-written while others had been ordered online. Still, we’re talking about an average of over 250 cards per day. Also, some of them were wedding cards, and two of them were hand-delivered to his address.
Carvalho had left her native Brazil without informing her family.
This is the second reported stalker the celebrity singer has had to deal with. In 2019, a homeless woman who was sleeping outside the singer’s house “pushed money and notes through his letterbox and tried to grab Styles as he went out for a jog,” according to The Standard.
