We have so many questions about this story, but according to News 10, a man is facing up to seven years in prison after robbing a 74-year-old woman of her “adult Schwinn tricycle” last year.
The man, 47-year-old Anthony Allen, followed the older victim into her Sarasota Springs, New York apartment “pretending to help her with a large package” before stealing the bike.
Allen then hid in a nearby bathroom, but a neighbor called the police who eventually found him in another apartment.
Allen told the cops it was his tricycle, but then they saw surveillance video and talked to some witnesses and the cops were like, no it isn’t.
He’s expected to be sentenced in June.
Public records indicate the incident took place on November 23, 2023. It looks like the same guy was also arrested for the criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance in December 2023. So maybe that explains the potential seven year sentence.
