The Red Roof Inn in Sutton, Massachusetts should be avoided at all costs.
On Monday, Detective Alex Sinni spotted a suspicious looking truck parked on the side of the 2-star hotel. He spoke to the man behind the wheel, later identified as Harvey Johnson Jr., and “observed items typically used in conjunction with illegal narcotics use.”
In addition to to what the Sutton Police Department describes as a “small amount of a Class B (crack cocaine) substance,” they found an M190 U.S. Army Rocket Launcher under the backseat.

The cops didn’t know what to do with it, so it was turned over to the ATF.
Johnson was arrested on charges of “Possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine) and Possession/Control of an Incendiary Device.”

Less than a week before this incident, Sutton Police “received a phone call from an elderly resident of the Red Roof Inn” because a man broke her window and entered her room. The man, Carlos Ojeda, broke the window of a second room and caused “severe damage to the interior.” Police found his wallet (with his ID) and “items that are associated with illegal narcotics use.” Ojeda was arrested on the following charges (per Sutton PD):
- B & E at Night into a building to commit a felony
- Placing a person in fear by Entering at Night to commit a felony
- Possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine)
- Possession of a Class B substance ( Suboxone)
- Vandalize Property

“Best thing that could happen is for the red roof inn to be burnt to the ground,” wrote Dave, a Facebook user. “That place is just a spot for all these crack heads to go get high. Someone needs to hold management there accountable and get this place shut down.”
People who’ve stayed there are on the same page; here’s a review written by David (no relation to Dave) from last year:
“We stayed the last two days because we are homeless for the next few weeks. I would rather be homeless… I left to get food and left my wife there to nap… Next thing she knew some maintenance man is standing in the room and she was totally naked.. she started screaming and was terrified the rest of our stay… On night two we found two cockroaches … Room smelled like an over powering mold. Very dirty…. Rugs are discussing along with everything else. And now they do nothing about it. We asked for a refund and was denied that.”
