A urologist is collaborating with a tech company to develop a ‘wearable clit tracker’ named ClitTrak, 404 Media reports.
“I am helping develop [a] “Fitbit” for the clitoris and it’s going to be fucking revolutionary,” wrote Dr. Ashley Winter on X (formerly Twitter). She’s teaming up with Firmtech, a Montana-based company which also sells several high-tech penis rings, to make this happen.
The product’s aim is to measure how the clitoris responds to sexual stimulation by measuring blood flow changes. There was an initial study involving twenty women who wore the device while masturbating and watching both arousing and non-arousing content.
Historically, the penis has gotten much more attention than the clitoris, and Winter is highlighting the need for a better medical understanding of it. At her own practice, she’s encountered ladies who didn’t know much at all about their own clits.

“In recent years, there’s been people talking about the anatomy of the clitoris, and wearing clitoris necklaces, and clitoris art,” Winter told Samantha Cole of 404 Media. “And that’s great, but you know, if we don’t couple that with better understanding from a medical side, and attention from research scientists and the technology side, what is the point?”
The ClitTrak prototype includes a small device inserted in the vagina and a pulse sensor resting on the clitoris to measure blood flow and engorgement.
Dr. Winter presented the prototype at a recent Sexual Medicine Society meeting and is aiming to get this on the market so people can gain a better understanding of their sexual arousal patterns.
