An Iowa woman was apparently thrilled to get arrested this week after starting a porch fire at what she thought was her friend’s house.

The owner wasn’t home but got an alert on her security app and was able to see 46-year-old Michelle Young, who she doesn’t know and has never met, starting the fire at about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
When the cops arrived, Young told them her friend lived there, and that she was just setting fire to random objects she had picked up on the street during a non-suspicious walk around the neighborhood.
According to KWQC, Young also saw a sign which read “Witches Welcome,” and since she’s a witch, she walked onto the porch and started lighting things on fire.

KWQC also notes that Young claimed to have knocked several times before starting the fire, and that she says she wasn’t trying to hurt anyone.
Luckily, “The fire department quickly extinguished the fire and there was minimal damage to the porch,” according to a Facebook post by the Burlington Iowa Police Department.
Young was charged with Reckless Use of Fire (a serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (a simple misdemeanor). According to The Hawk Eye, officers “located a clear glass smoking pipe in her possession.”
Young is being held at Des Moines County Jail on a cash-only $5,000 bond.
